Budget Propane Ontario is happy to announce that as part of the Heat Bank Program Haliburton County it has donated 4,000 litres of propane to vulnerable members of the Haliburton community.
Heat Bank Haliburton County is a program designed and supported by the Central Food Network. The community initiative aims to increase the supply of, and ease of access to, emergency firewood and heat (such as propane) for vulnerable people living within Haliburton County.
The program is made up of a network of community agencies, organizations, community members and companies who are committed to ensuring that residents within Haliburton County have access to emergency heat when they need it.
By recognizing the many challenges that struggling households can face, Heat Bank Haliburton aims to eliminate the need to have to sacrifice heat in order to purchase other necessities.
In a letter to Budget Propane Ontario following our donation, Tina Jackson, Coordinator of Heat Bank Haliburton County, said: “I just wanted to connect with you directly to let you know how much your donation of 4,000 liters means to me, the Heat Bank program and the folks that we work with. It is absolutely incredible!
“I made an announcement about your kindness at our fundraiser at Rhubarb in November which was met with a round of applause.”
