It’s that time of year when we turn our attention not just to keeping homes warm with propane, but to keeping hearts warmed with generosity, kindness and the spirit of giving. At Budget Propane, along side Calloway Storage, we are thrilled to announce that we are an official drop-off location for the 35th annual Rock 95 / Kool FM Toy Drive, and proud to serve as the furthest-north drop-off point for the initiative, making us your go-to place in the Muskoka, Haliburton and surrounding northern Ontario communities.

About the Toy Drive — Why It Matters

The Rock 95 / Kool FM Toy Drive is an annual community-giving tradition in Simcoe County (and beyond) that for over three decades has brought holiday joy to children who might otherwise wake up with nothing under the tree.

Here’s a closer look at what this event is all about:

  • Since its inception, the drive has partnered with 25+ charities across the region and has reached over 1,600 children in recent campaigns.
  • The mission: It’s not simply about toys, it’s about hope, belonging and community. Each donation is a tangible gesture that says: “You matter. You’re included.”
  • What’s collected: New, unwrapped toys suitable for children from infants up through 16 years old; boards games, books, art supplies, sports gear, puzzles, and for older kids, sometimes gift cards.
  • How your contributions help: Monetary donations are also accepted, these allow organizers to fill gaps, especially for teen-aged kids where toy donations may be low.
  • Community connection: The drive also hosts events in the run-up to the holidays, concerts, light shows, other drop-off station activations, bringing everyone together.

In short: this Toy Drive is more than a gift collection, it’s a community-wide effort to make sure kids in need don’t miss out on that bright Christmas morning feeling.

Why Budget Propane Says “Yes”

At Budget Propane, our commitment isn’t just about delivering reliable propane service, it’s about being part of the communities we serve. Being able to host a drop-off location for this Toy Drive aligns with those values in a very real way:

  • We’re located in Gravenhurst, and as the furthest-north drop point, we’re making it easier for families and individuals north of Simcoe County (Muskoka, Haliburton, etc.) to contribute without traveling far.
  • We know our customers. We see the homes we service. We see the families. This is our neighbourhood and being able to contribute to spreading holiday joy here hits home.
  • It’s a witness to the fact that giving doesn’t wait for perfect conditions, just a generous heart and a willingness to participate.

How You Can Drop Off a Toy — It’s Simple

Here’s how you can get involved and help make a difference this holiday season:

Drop-Off Location:
Budget Propane (Administration & Service Offices)
1010 & 1011 Beiers Road, Gravenhurst Ont. P1P0C7

Drop-Off Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

What to bring:

  • New, unwrapped toys for children from infants up to age 16.
  • Consider gifts that spark creativity: books, art supplies, puzzles. Or for older kids: sports gear, board games, gift cards.
  • Please avoid wrapping the gifts so organizers know who the age/recipient is and can distribute appropriately.
  • Monetary donations (if you prefer to give that way) – ask at drop-off for details.

Deadline:
The drive accepts donations until December 19th; donate as soon as possible to ensure timely distribution.

What This Means for Our Community

Imagine this: a child in our region wakes up on Christmas morning and finds something under the tree they might not otherwise have received. That moment of joy. That feeling of being cared-for. That sense of belonging. That’s the power of this drive.

By stepping up as your local drop-off point, we’re making it easier for residents to participate, so no one north of the standard drop-off zone feels too far away to give. And the ripple effect is strong: one gift becomes part of a memory, that memory becomes part of a family’s story, and that story becomes part of our community’s culture of kindness.

Let’s Make It Big — Come On North Muskoka!

So here’s our call to action: Let’s show just how generous Northern Ontario can be. Let’s drop off toys, spread the word, bring in friends, neighbours, coworkers. Let’s make our Gravenhurst-to-Haliburton region a bright beacon in this year’s Toy Drive.

If you’re thinking, “Well maybe someone else will…” we’ll say this: someone else is likely thinking the same. Every single donation matters. It doesn’t matter if it’s modest or grand, someone getting one toy could change their holiday moment.

We’re honoured to have you join us in this effort. Bring in your donation, drop it off at our office, and together with the total network of Rock 95 / Kool FM Toy Drive partners we’ll deliver something meaningful.

Thanks for reading. Thanks for giving. And thanks for being part of our community at Budget Propane. Let’s make this holiday season a little warmer in every way.
